Texas Physical Therapy Specialists Stacy Sutton Spoke at Breast Cancer & Sexuality Event

Texas Physical Therapy Specialists (TexPTS) is proud to announce that Stacy Sutton, PT, DPT, WCS, CLT, spoke at the Educate and Empower: Breast Cancer & Sexuality presentation, sponsored by Texas Oncology and Texas Breast Specialists, on September 22, 2015 at McFadden Auditorium in Austin, TX.

The presentation highlighted how breast cancer diagnosis and treatment can impact body image and affect intimacy and sexuality during and after breast cancer treatment. The presentation was followed by a Q & A with the audience.

Dr. Sutton specializes and has a passion for treating men and women with a variety of diagnoses including pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain, pregnancy related pain, postpartum pain, voiding dysfunction, pre- and post-mastectomy musculoskeletal pain and lymphedema, and those with osteoporosis. Sarah Janosik, LCSW, also spoke at the event. Janosik participated in the development of the first breast cancer support groups in Austin and since then has counseled individuals and couples in the treatment and recovery phases on issues related to sexuality and intimacy.

“I am honored to have spoken at the Educate and Empower: Breast Cancer & Sexuality event,” said Sutton, Board Certified Women’s Health Specialist at TexPTS. “This is a wonderful way for women to talk about issues in an open and nonjudgmental environment, and to learn that they are not alone in experiencing a change in intimacy and sexuality following treatment for breast cancer.”
